What a crazy, busy fortnight we have had here in Pia - all staff and students have been working so hard to finish up reports, testing and projects before the end of semester.
Student reports will be sent home with students on Wednesday 29th June 2022.
Next week our new teacher Ms Marea Billig will be arriving here in Pia. Yesterday, at our Catch-up Cuppa our parents and our Director of Education Lisa Criddle met her via Webex, and everyone seems very excited about up-coming changes in the school for semester 2. Miss Marea will be taking over the Junior class and will be supported in the literacy sessions with Miss Lulu and with our Top Ten maths with Mr Bradley.

Miss Marika is graduating to the senior class where she will be responsible for our older students who take SIDE classes and the generalist high school curriculum. Mr Bradley and Miss Kylie will continue to support the students in that learning space.
Yesterday we had a visit from our Mid-West Director of Education Mrs Lisa Criddle and Regional Careers Pathway coordinator Mrs Alana Carson. Our students did an amazing job in showing off our beautiful school and all the hard work that they have been doing in their classes. Mrs Criddle was given a tour of our school by our senior students Michaela Simpson and Rihanna Schwarze.
The senior students showed off their Maths prowess utilising the Top Ten Maths programme, the junior students did an excellent recount of their Talk For Writing story and an impressive musical performance. They also had Mrs Criddle purchase a coffee and cake in their new "Pia Cafe!" Mrs Carson spent time with our senior students and their parents' discussing future educational and career pathway options for our high school students.
Mrs Criddle and Mrs Carson enjoyed a Welcome to Country by our AIEO and Cultural Advisor Kylie Simpson. Community members, parents, students, staff and students and our invited guests then proceeded to enjoy a scrumptious morning tea whereby everyone got a chance to speak with Mrs Criddle and Mrs Carson.
Thank you to all our families who came over to school to meet with Mrs Criddle and Mrs Carson, and to enjoy the showcase of our students' work. Our staff did an amazing job in preparing everything so that the day ran extremely smoothly, and everyone had a most enjoyable time. Our students were exemplary in their behaviour and their demonstration of pride for their school. A job well done to everyone.
As we move toward the end of term students and staff have been working to finish off work, clean up their learning spaces and projects. Our school and grounds are looking amazing. Our cleaning staff Mrs Jocelyn Pumpa and Mrs Lulu Barbuto have worked tirelessly to give our school a total refresh. Miss Kylie has finished kitting out the Wadjarri room, the junior room has had a total makeover and the office has been totally reorganised by Miss Melissa and Miss Lulu. Our school environment has become such a welcoming and calm learning space. Thankyou to all contributors of this new re-vamped look of our school.

Next Wednesday we will be having our end of term assembly and a sausage sizzle to say good bye to Mr Sean and Miss Melissa, who are coming to the end of their contract here at Pia Wadjarri. The assembly will start at 10:15am and morning tea will follow in the Wadjarri room. Hope to see parents and community for our assembly.
Students in the Senior Class have been learning how to write a ‘Finding Tale’ in Talk4Writing. We are using Jumanji as our inspiration and our stories are getting exciting. One of them is quite scary so when its finished be careful when you read it! The new girls are also starting on SIDE so we will eventually have 5 students on SIDE if all goes well.
